I was looking for an excuse to plug the book again…

Wildside Press, our distributor, has now posted The Best of Not One of Us on its website. The collection is also being sold on amazon.com.

The longer I stare at the book, the happier I am. Collected in place are fifteen of the very best stories published in Not One of Us during its first twenty years…and we’re still alive. In case you missed the table of contents:

Another Coming, by Sonya Taaffe
The Elevator, by Patricia Russo
Matters of Family, by Gary A. Braunbeck
There the Great City Stands, by Ceri Jordan
Night Window, by Marc Lecard
Chad, by Kate Riedel
Take the “A” Train, by Wayne Allen Sallee
C2, by Anke Kriske
The Rosegarden, by Seth Matthew Lindberg
Fading, by Katherine Harbour
The Birthday Ritual, by Kurt Newton
The Last Poetry Night at the Saturnalia Coffee House, by Mark McLaughlin
Hooney Jew, Hooney Jew, by Steve Vernon
Pale Fruit, by Jeffrey Thomas
Soul's Night, by Jennifer Rachel Baumer

Note to contributors…Your copies are on the way. I mailed the last ones this morning.

Anke found a frame that holds an entire copy of the book, so we have mounted it on the wall next to the framed cover of her novel, A Haven in Winter.

My “vacation” (by which I mean a week off from work to stay at home while Anke, Karl, and Derek visit Anke’s mother in Virginia) starts next Friday, August 18, although my vacations have a bad habit of turning into work emergencies.

I see some names (and even some stories, like "The 'A' Train," that take me back to the days I started writing professionally....and a few that I recognize from more recent times. Looking forward to it very much.
