Here, as promised, is the table of contents of Not One of Us #35, our threshold issue. [livejournal.com profile] sovay has already provided an elegant review, so I'll cut to the chase:

Scarecrow (poem), by Jacqueline West
The Cats, by Patricia Russo
The Selkie Thief (poem), by Elizabeth Barrette
The End of the Road, by Brent Knowles
God (poem), by Kristine Ong Muslim
Hermetically Sealed, by Danny Adams
The Taking Lady (poem), by Karen R. Porter
Shelley, by James Cooper
Bendigeid Vran (poem), by Sonya Taaffe
False Prophet (poem), by Rich Ristow
Artists: HE Fassl (cover), Teresa Tunaley, Russell Dickerson

I'll be packing up the contributor and subscriber copies this weekend, so folks should start receiving them in a week or so.

Not One Of Us #1?

John, I tried an experiment recently that seems to have paid off, but I thought I'd ask you to make sure first:

The other day I was wandering around Bookfinder looking for first issues of my favorite magazines (if I didn't already have them), and I ran across a listing for Not One Of Us with no issue number listed. A query about this was inconclusive since there wasn't one listed on the issue. The magazine arrived today--it has a beige-ish cover with the title given as (Not) One Of Us and a face on the cover, has your signature under the introduction, includes a poem by you ("Dust") and Marge Simon ("Not One Of Us"), and is dated October 1986.

So did I just stumble into a historical document? :)

The copy you have is the first issue of Not One of Us. It lacks an issue number because I originally marketed it as a stand-alone collection, even though I thought there was a good chance it would turn into a magazine. I signed every copy of (Not) One of Us. I dropped the parentheses before #2 because that seemed too cumbersome for a magazine.
